Welcome to our site!
We are a small non-profit group of volunteers, devoted to finding homes and love for abandoned and homeless cats and dogs in Bulgaria. When a pet comes into our care, the first thing we do is bring it to the veterinarian for a check up, vaccinate it, and spay or neuter it. From there, we place homeless pets in foster homes until we find them a good and carrying permanent home.
Unfortunately the life of the homeless animals in Bulgaria is very difficult. The accession of our Country to the European Union took place on 1 January 2007. Bulgaria has animal rights in place but no onr follows them. Every day, many pets are found that have been abandoned or lost often discarded by owners, sometimes found wondering outside, struggling to survive or are found injured.
There are many sites and forums where people post ads for homeless animals and they try to help but don't know how. Unfortunately, Bulgaria is one of these Countries in which, there is no institution that can protect and take care of homeless and sick animals. Many foreign organizations are sponsoring homeless animals in Bulgaria; however in most cases the money is not used for the intended needs. We should not forget that there are other non-profit organizations made by volunteers helping unwanted animals, unfortunately these organizations are not enough to help the huge amount of sick and homeless cats and dogs.
We try to to place every animal with the most compatible person possible. Therefore, an interview is necessary before any adoption is completed and we do a follow-up after placement. There is a small adoption fee to help recover part of the costs incurred so that we can help the next animal in need.
Our pity toward these helpless animals made us look for your support. Is it normal in the 21st Century animals to be treated in a inhumane way? Together, we can make a difference! We believe that with your support we can help our best friends - the animals.
Please consider a rescue pet before you buy a dog or buy a cat from a breeder or pet store.
Be responsible, spay/neuter your pet. |
